After spending close to a decade working in academic press publishing—at the Johns Hopkins University Press, University of Nebraska Press and University Press of Virginia—I unexpectedly found myself establishing a career as a writer.

Now, more than 25 years later, I have written hundreds upon hundreds of articles that focused on healthcare, personal finance, business, travel and art and antiques. My work has appeared in, among other publications, the American Bar Association Journal, Baltimore Magazine, Christian Science Monitor, Chronicle of Philanthropy, New England Antiques Journal and St. Anthony Messenger. Regardless of the nature of the article I am working on, my work is known for its timeliness, accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail, while I myself have a reputation as a headache-free freelancer.

I hold an undergraduate degree in visual arts (my work has been described, interestingly enough, as “very visual”) from Goucher College and have done graduate work at Johns Hopkins University. Articles of mine have won awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Maryland-D.C.-Delaware Press Association, and I am a former member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors.

In addition, my experience includes working as a legal affairs reporter and editor at The Daily Record and as editor of the travel magazine, WHERE Baltimore.
